About this Plan

This touring plan is carefully crafted to optimize your time experiencing the haunted houses, scare zones, and entertainment at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights. Attractions that are not exclusive to Halloween Horror Nights have been excluded from this touring plan. This plan can be used if you’re visiting the event for a single night or multiple nights.

Download the App

Before visiting Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights, we recommend downloading the Universal Orlando app from the App Store or Google Play Store. The app provides wait times, showtimes, an event map, and more.

Entering the Event

We suggest arriving at the entrance to Universal Studios Florida, where the event is held, by at least 4:30 PM. You won’t gain entry to the event at this time, but being nearer to the park gates gives you an advantage over other guests. Keep in mind that it may take up to 30 minutes to reach the front gates from the parking booth if you’re driving. However, if you have a ticket to Universal Studios Florida, a Scream Early add-on ticket, or a Universal Orlando Annual Pass that is valid for the same day you’re visiting Halloween Horror Nights, you can stay in the park after its 5 PM closing time and take advantage of early entry to select haunted houses before Halloween Horror Nights begins. Simply pick up a wristband at Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, Illumination’s Minion Café, or Lombard’s Seafood Grille, beginning at 3 PM. It’s a good idea to download the official Universal Orlando app in advance to view attraction wait times, check showtimes, navigate the park, and much more.

Attractions to Visit

We’ve compiled a list of all the haunted houses at the event. Follow this specific order to minimize your time in lines, but be prepared to make slight adjustments to catch any scheduled shows listed in the “Visit When Available” section below.

Scare Zones to Explore

Halloween Horror Nights boasts numerous scare zones where monsters roam the streets; you’ll pass through these themed areas while traveling to each haunted house and show. Although the haunted houses are the main draw for guests, we also encourage you to take the time to explore the scare zones to fully experience all that Halloween Horror Nights has to offer.

Tips

  • If you’re visiting the event for just one night, we recommend having dinner before you arrive to maximize your time for enjoying the haunted houses and experiences.
  • If you have a ticket to Universal Studios Florida, a Scream Early add-on ticket, or a Universal Orlando Annual Pass, and are also attending Halloween Horror Nights on the same day, you can obtain a wristband that allows you to stay in the park after it closes at 5 PM and enjoy early entry to select haunted houses before Halloween Horror Nights begins. Wristbands are provided beginning at 3 PM at the following check-in stations: Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, Illumination’s Minion Café, and Lombard’s Seafood Grille. This allows you to get an early start on experiencing haunted houses before guests waiting at the front gates, resulting in shorter wait times. If there’s a highly anticipated haunted house you want to visit, it’s a good opportunity to do so. Be sure to line up for that haunted house as soon as the queue opens to minimize your wait. After enjoying that house, you should follow the order outlined in this touring plan. We advise against visiting more than one haunted house beforehand, as doing so may result in longer lines that can reduce the plan’s effectiveness.
  • To reduce your wait times, consider purchasing Halloween Horror Nights Express to skip the regular lines at all haunted houses.
  • If you’re staying at a Universal Orlando on-site hotel and are not visiting Universal Studios Florida during regular park hours or don’t have a Scream Early ticket, use the designated entrance for on-site hotel guests. Although you won’t be admitted earlier than guests at the regular entrance, you’ll avoid the large crowds and enter more quickly.
  • If you’re using Halloween Horror Nights Express, continue following this touring plan to efficiently navigate the park and make the most of your time.
  • If you purchased Halloween Horror Nights Express and want to revisit a haunted house, use the regular line if the posted wait time is under 30 minutes as Halloween Horror Nights Express can only be used once per house.
  • At select quick-service restaurants throughout the park, you can use the Universal Orlando app‘s mobile ordering service. This feature allows you to order your meal in advance, so when you arrive at the restaurant, you can quickly pick up your food and avoid long lines at the ordering counter.
  • Don’t rush from one attraction to another. Take your time to explore the different scare zones at the event.
